ABOUT US

Welcome to the Tohoku University International Support Center (ISC)!

Established in April 2022, our center provides comprehensive support to international students, international researchers, and faculty members of Tohoku University.

From providing support with practical matters such as travel arrangements and finding accommodation, to more complex bureaucratic procedures, our goal is to provide the resources and assistance needed to ensure that our international community in Tohoku University has a worry-free and enjoyable experience in Sendai and at the university.

The Census in Japan is held once every 5 years.
All individuals living in Japan are legally obligated to reply, including foreign residents who have been living in Japan for 3 months or more.

Join the Sendai Japanese Language Course to learn Japanese!
Learn in a supportive community setting, with classes available from beginner to advanced. The courses are taught by experienced members of the International Citizens’ Association of Sendai (ICAS) and are free (textbook not included). Join the Japanese Language for Work (しごとのためのにほんご) course offered by JICE and HelloWork!

Due to high demand, this enrollment period offers three online course levels tailored to different levels of Japanese proficiency.The program is designed to support stable employment in Japan. Participants will learn Japanese used in job hunting (求職活動), everyday workplace communication (はたらく場面), business etiquette, and employment practices in Japan.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Scienc

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has requested that we remind all our TU members about the prohibition of bringing meat, fruits, and vegetables products etc. into Japan.

To ensure compliance with Japan's regulations and avoid penalties, please keep in mind the following points :

*Bringing meat products, fruits, vegetables, etc. into Japan from overseas is strictly prohibited by law.

*Any illegal importation of these items into Japan is subject to heavy penalties, including imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 3 million yen.

*Please remind your family members and acquaintances who are visiting Japan not to bring these items into the country or send them to Japan.
