Welcome to the Tohoku University International Support Center (ISC)!

Established in April 2022, our center provides comprehensive support to international students, international researchers, and faculty members of Tohoku University.

From providing support with practical matters such as travel arrangements and finding accommodation, to more complex bureaucratic procedures, our goal is to provide the resources and assistance needed to ensure that our international community in Tohoku University has a worry-free and enjoyable experience in Sendai and at the university.

The International Office, School of Engineering has announced the class schedule for the EngIO Japanese Class Spring semester 2023.

Students, researchers, and faculty members in the School of Engineering, Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, Graduate School of Information Sciences, and Graduate School of Environmental Studies are all welcome to apply for this course.

The information for the Tohoku University Japanese

The information for the Tohoku University Japanese Language Program for the first semester of 2023, which will be held at the Kawauchi campus, is now available on the JLPK website.

Overseas applicants can also apply for the Nihongo ID, which is required to attend the program. However, please note that a Tohoku University ID is necessary to apply for the program. Please liaise with your respective department for the issuance of the Nihongo ID.

For those who are newly joining TU in April, please apply for the Nihongo ID after April 1st, once your Tohoku University ID has been activated.

The Kawauchi Keyaki Nursery School and Aobayama Midori Nursery School are currently accepting enrolment applications from children of staff and students at Tohoku University.

The Animal Quarantine Service of the Ministry of A

The Animal Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has notified us about several instances where meat products that are banned for import have been discovered in the international parcels addressed to members of our university.
We urge all members of Tohoku University to comply with the relevant regulations and avoid engaging in any such practices. Not only is it a violation of the law, but it also poses a risk to public health and safety.
