Post-Arrival Orientation for International Researchers (International Students, Family Members and Host Department Representatives also Welcome!)

We warmly welcome all international researchers and international students to Tohoku University!

To help you settle into life in Sendai and make the most of your academic experience, the International Support Center is organizing a Post-Arrival Orientation for international researchers and their host departments.

While the session is primarily aimed for international researchers, international students and family members are also welcome to join. Additionally, we also greatly welcome the persons in charge from research labs and host departments to join as well.

Representatives from SenTIA (Sendai Tourism, Convention and International Association) and Sendai City officials will be present to share valuable insights and practical tips on living in Sendai.

What to Expect (orientation will be given in English)

Living in Sendai as an International Resident – Key information on daily life and available support.
Helpful Resources – Guidance on bureaucratic procedures and local services.
Disaster Preparedness – Important safety measures and what to do in case of a natural disaster.
Q&A Session – A chance to ask questions and get advice on settling in.
